In the lab, the research focuses on the issues of eye moveme control and lexical processing in reading Chinese. At the visual, lexical, and contextual levels, the reading processes are investigated to reveal the time course of foveal and parafoveal processing of words, Chinese word parsing in sentence, sentential context and ambiguous word resolution, and visual-auditory word integration. In addition, we also study individual differences of reading Chinese, including developmental difference of eye movements in reading and learning Chinese as the second language.
